Interval Training – The KEY component
As I’m sure you’re all well aware by now, interval training is a KEY component to achieving your desired goals for fitness and fatloss. STANDARD!
Quite simply, if your NOT getting intervals into your workouts it’s likely your not getting results.
The subject of intervals leads me nicely onto a interval program I have literally experimented with for the first time today! The two clients in question will agree that tabata interval training is no mean feat!!! Well done Matt & Russ!!!
What is tabata interval training?
Tabata interval training is the single most effective type of high intensity interval training, its also the most intense by far, and surprisingly its the shortest in duration, it only last for four minutes… but those four minutes produce remarkable effects. The question is how many tabata’s can you do? Even more, how many repetitions of each tabata can you perform?? That was the challenge to my two clients this morning. I won’t say who won but it was very close!!!

1.) Greater Fat Loss: ONLY 4 minutes of intervals burned just as much fat as 45 minutes of moderate aerobic training. This means that for every second of exercise performed, interval training burns EXPONENTIALLY more body fat than the aerobic training alternative.
2.) Greater Fitness: Interval Training offers greater improvements in both anaerobic AND aerobic capacity in much less time than the aerobic alternative.
Making interval training easy
1. Okay, how many of you have tried interval training in the gym using the treadmill/bike time counter and lost track of when you should be working/resting? NIGHTMARE!!!
2. OR maybe you have tried using your stop watch? How annoying is it when you’ve finished that last press up & have missed a few seconds to hit stop?

Tabata interval training is SOOO easy if you have one of these devices. Use the app WORKOUT OUT MUSE. It’s amazing. Not only can you use it as a timer for your intervals but it will also use the songs from your iphone to play on your work & rest periods. AMAZING!!! You’ll actually going to enjoy hitting those hard interval workouts by listening to your fav tunes!
