Hey Everyone! After a great mornings training, I’ve just had my self-journal out, setting my intentions for the week ahead & planning.

TOP 3 Intentions:
(incase you’re interested)

1. Get back on the Daily email

2. Train everyday

3. Drink 3 litres water plus supps

Key word above ^^ is ==> planning.

I’ve lost count how many times
a client told me, I just need to
plan better/more.

So what is stopping them/YOU?

Why do you keep putting off planning ahead?

Whether its, planning your food for the week?

or planning your workouts?

My guess is its the same reason I haven’t even looked at my SELF-JOURNAL for weeks

…it still hasn’t become a habit.

Simple as that.

When life gets busy/stressful etc only “habits” will keep you on track.

The 2nd prize to habits is SELF-AWARENESS.

Having self-awareness of when things are getting a little out of control is what enables you to take positive action FAST and NOT let things spiral further.

6 Week Transformation Challenge 2.0?

I’m currently working hard on a brand new & upgraded version of our famous 6 week transformation program to be released in the new year.

To give you a little insight, self-awareness will be playing a HUGE part within the overall theme of the whole program, in fact our WHOLE OPERATION will be based on my findings from the last 3-4 years of studying the neuro-science of change.

It’s my feeling that mindset (or to be more specific, BRAIN-SET) is the future of the health & fitness industry. After all, your mind controls EVERYTHING

Everything you eat, every decision you make (or don’t make)

The biggest challenge for me, has always been HOW to implement this more advanced information to the public in a way that is understood and be easily implemented.

..Diet and exercise are much more black/white.

..Eat this or don’t eat this.

..Do these exercises NOT these.

Whereas if I asked you what % of time do you feel your reptilian brain is kicking off, we’re entering a very different conversation!

So the challenge is a big one but it’s 100% one I am eager to take.

Sure it will likely LOSE me followers in the future who only want me to pretend the hard & fast options really can work

but for the people that do “get it”

well you are in for one heck of a powerful and dare I say it, Transformational journey!

Falling off the “DIET WAGON”; have you fallen? Need some help getting back on track?

Its very easy to fall of the diet wagon and whether it down to stress, boredom, food, work or you just lack motivation, everyone has a different reason as to why they do fall. Want to learn about Jamie’s Top Ten Reasons why and how you can get back on track? With his help in the video, you can learn and discover what it is that’s pushing you over. Here are the 10 tips in brief

1. First, ask yourself if the diet is for you and will this diet and help you reach your goal1. is this the diet for u
2. Why did you fall off the Diet Wagon in the first place?
3. Taking the obstacle that’s pushing you over from tip 2 and come up with at least 3 ways to overcome that barrier
4. Set a specific goal that is realistic and attainable
5. Set yourself a REALISTIC deadline and time frame so you can focus on completing it in that time 90 days and break into 3 bench mark months to allow you to monitor your progress because smaller steps are better than big steps
6. Clear out junk food in your environment
7. Talk about your goals with people that you are around a lot and explain why its important to you that you’re doing the things you are because it reminds yourself of why you’re doing this and people will normally be supportive.
8. Start with small little steps towards your goal because big steps will set your self up for failure, too much change too soon will only but you under pressure
9. Planning separates winners from losers, chucking in new recipes twice a week for example to give you something to look forward to
10. Make a commitment to yourself and ask yourself why you want to do this, keep asking yourself, ask yourself WHY?!!!! If you don’t have a big enough “why”, its hard to keep motivated and stay on track!

Training INTENSITY – Northants Expert Personal Training Team

(Avoid these 5 common pitfalls)

After a morning of training people my mind has wandered onto the subject of INTENSITY for todays post. It’s a subject I feel is massively mis-understood.

See, there is this idea that just pushing harder in your workouts will yield greater results.

This has about as much truth as the idea that the only focus for achieving weight loss is to eat less calories.

There are just too many other variables to mention.

On the subject of intensity I have listed my top 5 considerations below:

1. Avoid DANGER

Working harder on exercises that the body doesn’t have the mobility, stability or strength to
perform is not only in-effective but damn right dangerous

Lesson: Good movement should ALWAYS be prioritised over harder intensity

2. The mind & body ARE connected

It blows my mind when I see people reading the paper whilst cycling at 2 MPH.

Lesson: If you TRULY want to see results from your training efforts then FOCUS will be a KEY
ingredient to your success. Be clear of what your goal for the session is. If completing the
crossword is one of them fine. but if its to get physically stronger/fitter then focus ALL your
efforts on the actual training.

3. Track

Tracking is essential for reaching the correct levels of intensity. If you are guessing your
weights or making up your workouts on the spot you’ll never hit levels of intensity that will
elicit change.

Lesson: Stick to a training plan (See LPT Academy to access our monthly plan)

4. Activation

In LPT we use the word activation ALL the time. Its a reminder to members to activate the
correct muscles for the lift or movement. Whilst many people are working “harder” in the gym by
exerting more force if they just activated the correct muscles they’d get a far bigger pay-off.

Lesson: Technique is KEY when it comes to achieving a high level of intensity

5. Progressive Overload

This last point ties in with the importance of tracking. Simply put, the BIG changes occur in
the body during those final 2-3 reps (that really hurt).

However watch the average gym goer & its these last few 2-3 reps they avoid OR just shoot for
1-2 instead.

And yeah I get it.

Having the motivation to hit these last 2-3 reps is tough.

Its the reason our members stay with us & its the reason I rarely hit many training sessions on
my own too

as well as most athletes.

Humans are creatures of comfort.

We will always avoid pain where possible.

Lesson: Get a coach/training partner to keep you on track
